Rear Adm. (select) John Elnitsky

Rear Adm. (select) John Elnitsky has assumed command of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport. He previously was program manager for Navy underseas weapons and the U.S.-Australian torpedo development project. A former nuclear sub commander, he holds awards including the Legion of Merit. He is a 1980 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and has two engineering degrees from the Naval Post Graduate School.
