BOSTON – RE/MAX of New England wants you to play ball, but the real estate firm isn’t looking to close a home sale with you. Instead, the company is looking to award three Boston Celtics fans a driveway renovation complete with a home basketball court. After shooting some hoops, you can then retire to a Celtics-themed bedroom, courtesy of the team and RE/MAX.
To win, RE/MAX and the Celtics are not requiring a shootout. However, they are requiring that applicants live within 75 miles of Boston, write a 500-word essay explaining why they deserve the makeover and submit a photo of the driveway.
Winners of the annual contest RE/MAX calls the Home Court Program receive a driveway or court resealing, a basket stanchion, backboard, electronic scoreboard, a ball rack and other Celtics-themed items. A Celtics player will also pay a visit.
“We’ve partnered with the Celtics for the Home Court program for six years now, and it always makes me proud to be able to provide families with the court, room renovation and community clinic from a Celtics player,” RE/MAX of New England Executive Vice President Jay Hummer said.
A committee consisting of local media members, RE/MAX employees and Celtics staff will select the winners. The deadline to apply is May 15 and entry forms are available at www.celtics.com.
