R.I. Food Bank chief resigns after 11 years on job

Bernie Beaudreau has resigned from his job as executive director of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank after 11 years in the position. He has accepted a position with the newly formed Global FoodBanking Network, based in Chicago.

Rosie O’Connors, a senior staff member of the Community Food Bank, has been appointed to serve as interim executive director effective Oct. 1.

The R.I. Community Food Bank, a nonprofit based in Providence, distributes donated food to about 383 entities around the state. In the past year, the Food Bank reports, it has distributed 8.4 million pounds of food.
