Gasoline prices in Rhode Island fell for the first time in the past month, reaching the lowest level since July 31, according to AAA Southern New England.
A survey conducted by AAA on December 4 found that self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline averaged $1.61 per gallon in Rhode Island — one cent less than during the previous three weeks. During the last 19 weeks, the price has been relatively stable, ranging on average from $1.62 to $1.66, AAA said.

The survey also found that the average price of self-serve, midgrade unleaded gasoline currently averages $1.70 per gallon, and that self-serve, premium gasoline averages $1.77 per gallon. Self-serve diesel fuel averages $1.76 per gallon. The average prices for a gallon of full-serve gasoline currently are $1.74, $1.82, $1.90 and $1.88 for regular unleaded, midgrade unleaded, premium unleaded and diesel, respectively.
