RIPTA to provide service for First Night 2001

PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) said it will offer First Night button holders free transport on regular bus routes throughout the day and evening of December 31. RIPTA will also extend its Providence LINK trolley services to run from 11 to 1 a.m. on the day and evening of December 31.

The following RIPTA lines will operate from 1 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for First Night 2001 with last trips departing Providence at 12:30 a.m.:

A single ride on the Providence LINK will cost festival goers 50 cents. RIPTA is offering a “Key to the City Pass” for $1.50, which is good for unlimited rides on the trolleys between 11 and 1 a.m. on December 31.
