MANSFIELD – Ro-Jack’s Food Stores has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Boston. The company recently transferred control of its 11 market in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island to its principal creditor, Supervalu, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minn. A spokesman for Supervalu told the Providence Journal that it planned to keep the Ro-Jack’s supermarkets open and operate them through its subsidiary, Butson’s Enterprises of Massachusetts. He added that no layoffs were planned for Ro-Jack’s 1,400 employees.
