Scott E. Orchard, a lawyer at Edwards & Angell LLP, based in Providence, has been named secretary of Providence-based Business Development Company of Rhode Island’s board of directors. He is a member of Edwards & Angell’s private equity and venture capital practice group, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and private placements of equity securities. Orchard hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of California Berkeley and his juris doctorate from the University of Virginia.
