Shawmut is a construction management firm servicing institutional clients throughout the state, including universities, private schools, hospitals, non-profits and religious institutions.
Shawmut’s Rhode Island construction clients include Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design and Johnson & Wales University, Providence restaurants such as The Cheesecake Factory and Dave & Buster’s in the Providence Place Mall and McCormick & Schmick’s in the historic Biltmore Hotel.
Projects include build-out of science and research facilities, fit-out and renovation of a variety of academic buildings, campus infrastructure upgrades, life-safety upgrades, and historic preservation, said Ron Simoneau, Director of Operations for Shawmut’s Providence office.
Shawmut plans to double its Rhode Island team in 2005.
