Under terms of the contract, the hospital association has partnered with Evanston, Ill.-based Solucient to continue developing the state’s comprehensive inpatient and outpatient database based on information from all Rhode Island hospitals. Participating hospitals can use the Solucient Polaris Suite to access this statewide information to realize quality-of-care improvement and identify cost control and general business development opportunities for their facilities.

“This partnership will have tremendous benefit for our member hospitals,” said Edward J. Quinlan, president of the hospital association, in the release. “Rhode Island has led the way in quality improvement and this is another tool that will help us to achieve our goals.”
