Tristan Barako has been named grants manager for the YMCA of Greater Providence. He will now work with the nonprofit’s nine branches to fund programs for the community. Previously, Barako served as senior writer and researcher for Providence Pictures. He holds a B.A. in religious studies and classics from McGill University and a Ph.D. in the Bible and archaeology from Harvard University. •
