
PROVIDENCE – More than 600 people purchased tickets to taste the fares of 23 local food truck vendors on Friday, April 27 at the sixth annual Truck Stop fundraiser for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank – part of the Eat Drink Rhode Island Festival.
Funds raised in support of the food bank totaled more than $150,000 according to the nonprofit organization Wednesday.

In a statement, food bank CEO Andrew Schiff said he and his team are “so thankful to our generous sponsors and guests who helped us raise much-needed funds to help feed Rhode Islanders in need of food assistance. … Every year, the community comes together in an amazing way to support this event.”
Among attendees were Gov. Gina M. Raimondo and First Gentleman Andy Moffit as well as Sen. Jack F. Reed.
Among the 23 food truck vendors participating in the fundraiser were: Bon Me, Citizen Wing, Ellie’s Bakery, Food 4 Good, Friskie Fries, Fugo, Gastros, Gilded Tomato, Gotta Q, Hometown Poké, Incred-A-Bowl, Like No Udder, Mijos Tacos, Ming’s Asian Street Food, Noble Knots, Open Season, Portu-Galo, Presto Strange O, Red’s, Rhode Island Community Food Bank Community Kitchen, Rhody Roots, Rocket Fine Street Food and Sarcastic Sweets.
Jonathan Edwards Winery, Revival Brewing Co., and Yacht Club Soda provided the beverages.
Live music was performed by Superchief Trio.
