URI closing in on goal for Ballentine Hall

KINGSTON — The University of Rhode Island announced that its College of Business Administration was within $50,000 of reaching its fund-raising goal of $5.6 million in private contributions for the reconstruction of Ballentine Hall. The total cost of the project is $10.6 million. Announcement of the fund-raising progress was made at groundbreaking ceremonies. In addition to the reconstruction of the three-story building, a 10,000 square-foot addition is being built. Completion of the project is planned for 2002. Meanwhile a temporary building for faculty and staff is being built on the campus.
