CAMBRIDGE — Vertex Pharmaceuticals has announced plans to acquire Aurora Biosciences
Corp. of San Diego, Calif. for $600 million, the Boston Globe reported. Aurora
has developed techniques for high-speed, precise measurements of biological reactions
within cells, which could enable Vertex to develop promising drug candidates more
quickly.
