WATERTOWN, MASS — V.I. Technologies, Incorporated, the premier developer of innovative biotech products designed to ensure a safer transfusion blood supply, reported a net loss of $4.9 million — or $0.25 per share — for the three months ended September 30, 2000, compared to a net loss of $5.8 million — or $0.47 per share — for the same period a year ago. The company reported net revenue for the quarter of $8.5 million, which it said was attributable to steady performance of its plasma fractionation business as well as terms of the American National Red Cross agreement for PLAS+(R)SD, as amended in July 2000. Net revenue for the same period a year ago was $6.0 million after a $4.5 million charge for a sales incentive program, the company said.
