Walaska seeks federal funding to keep Rocky Point Park open space

Sen. William A. Walaska, a Warwick Democrat, has introduced a Senate Resolution (01-S 0065) calling on the governor and the federal government to provide funding for the purchase of Rocky Point, to preserve the site of the former Rocky Point Amusement Park as open space.

With more than 123 acres of space and one mile of shoreline, it is one of the largest contiguous parcels of land to become available in Rhode Island in 25 years.
