Washington Trust to join Russell 3000

WESTERLY — Washington Trust Bancorp has been included on a preliminary list of
companies to be added to the Russell 3000 index, an index that measures the performance
of the country’s 3,000 largest public companies, based on market capitalization.
Also expected to be added to the list is Quaker Fabric Corp., a Fall River, Mass.
based company. Some 27 companies that have some type of operation in the local
market are already on the list. According to reports, the index is expected to
add 520 companies, while dropping 285.
