Wembley Plc is resisting an attempt
by the U.S. attorney general to subpoena Chairman Claes Hultman
as a witness in the case against the U.K.-based gaming company’s
U.S. unit, according to published reports.
A Wembley spokesman told the newspaper that Hultman had been
subpoenaed and that he had been advised by his lawyers not to
comply with the request.

U.S. prosecution has demanded that Hultman supply thousands
of documents relating to cases against two Wembley executives and
Lincoln Park Inc., the group’s Rhode Island unit.
Wembley has pointed out that Hultman isn’t facing any
charges and that the demand falls outside U.S. jurisdiction.
Wembley Chief Executive Office Nigel Potter and Lincoln Park
Chief Executive Officer Daniel Bucci were last month indicted by
a U.S. federal grand jury on charges of conspiring to bribe Rhode
Island state officials.
