2008 best workplaces selected

For the third time in as many years, Best Companies Group, in conjunction with Providence Business News, has named the Best Places To Work in Rhode Island.
The 23 organizations were judged on their responses to both an extensive management report as well as a 66-question employee survey. The data was compiled by Best Companies, an independent research organization based in Harrisburg, Pa., which then chose the winners.
This year’s Best Places To Work honorees will be fêted at an awards dinner Wednesday, June 4, at the Crowne Plaza at the Crossings hotel in Warwick. The event begins with a 5:30 reception; rankings in the individual awards categories will be revealed at the dinner that follows.
Eight companies have been included on the Best Places To Work list in each of the three years that PBN has sponsored the competition: Advanced Financial Services Inc., in Middletown; Cox Communications, in West Warwick; Edward Jones, in South Kingstown; Falvey Cargo Underwriting Ltd., South Kingstown; Hinckley Allen & Snyder LLP, in Providence; Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. Ltd., in Providence; Perspectives Corp., in North Kingstown; and Shawmut Design & Construction, in Providence.
