PROVIDENCE – The Upserve platform has added advanced features to its online-ordering system, the restaurant tech company said in a press release. The upgraded system is available now to all restaurants that use the company’s online-ordering capabilities, with a goal of streamlining its online-ordering profits, the company said.

It’s the first upgrade since the platform was released three months ago, company officials say, and comes not a moment too soon.

“Analysts expect online ordering to fuel a 79 percent increase in the U.S. food home-delivery market over the next five years, creating a huge opportunity for restaurants to increase revenue without adding seats,” said Angus Davis, CEO and founder of Upserve. “Now more than ever, restaurants need strong online-ordering tools.”

Some of the Upserve advanced features include the ability for restaurants to embed Upserve Online Ordering widgets directly into their website for a more seamless customer experience; the ability for restaurants to enroll customers into a loyalty program directly from an online order; an automatic suggestion of an increased order size if a customer is close to earning a reward; and the ability for restaurants to create online-ordering guest lists for targeted marketing. Customers can now also order online up to seven days ahead, according to the press release, and order using their Facebook login.
