What is a mentor? A solid personality strong and confident. Someone who believes in you more than you believe in yourself. Someone who guides you and helps shape you knowing and respecting your deepest thoughts, beliefs and passions in life. They act as a guide, never letting you deviate from your goals and dreams. Someone who will walk with you through the thickest of times and will only stop to enjoy your successes. If your lucky, once in your lifetime you will find this guide. Today I wish to thank the man who helped me find my own.
I started my journey as a broken and confused boy and with the guidance and friendship of my mentor, I became the man I always wanted to be. I found home! I found happiness! A mentor is not someone who tells you what to do, they direntiate through the fog and help define your gifts and talents. They then push you to be better and use these skills to excel.
The guidance of one can have an effect on many. I am now a mentor, a friend, a coach, a teacher. It comes with pride and it follows with love. I would like to than my mentor for helping shape me to become a mentor myself. For treating me like an equal and allowing me, with your guidance, to find myself.
