Laura Marlane has been appointed executive director of the Providence Community Library. She has 24 years of experience in public and academic libraries. Marlane most recently served as interim director of the Providence Community Library. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Rhode Island College and a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of Rhode Island. •
