PROVIDENCE – VOIP5000 Inc., a provider of Clixme click-to-call services and other VoIP applications for online businesses, today announced it has begun to develop a new social networking blogging service.
The new service will allow users to post audio recordings to their blogs, in real time; the company’s VoIP technologies will be leveraged to deliver the new service.

The premise is that users will be able to call the service with their telephone or cell phone, record a message, and instantly have it posted to their blog. Each user will be provided with a small snippet of code to add to his or her blog that will enable the real time availability of the recordings.
“With the explosive growth that social networking has experienced in 2006, we see huge potential in simplifying the way people blog,” said CEO Fotis Georgiadis. “With a service like this, people are no longer tied to their computers when they want to update their blogs. All they need is a phone, and literally within 60 seconds of recording a message, it’s available for the world to listen to.”
The audio blogging service will be compatible with all the major blogging and social networking sites, including News Corp’s MySpace.com and Google’s Blogger.com, VOIP5000 said. The company said it plans to release more information about the service in the near future.
Over the past year, many companies have changed their strategies for communicating with their customers and their employees to include blogs or “blog-type” services, VOIP5000 said. The value proposition for these companies was clear: a central source for maintaining information, both public and private.
