In an April 4 survey, AAA found regular self-serve prices averaging $2.15 a gallon, up 25 cents from five weeks ago. The last high price was $2.12 per gallon June 7, 2004. At this point a year ago, drivers were paying $1.76 a gallon.
AAA said they urge people to shop around for the best prices in their area. They found prices range from $2.05 to $2.25.
