Gas prices continue to climb

One week after reaching the $2.00 per gallon mark, the average price of gasoline in Rhode Island has jumped another five cents, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s weekly survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.05 per gallon, five cents more than last week, and 16 cents higher than just a month ago. The record high locally is $2.12, back on June 7. A year ago at this time the average price was $1.69.
