MIDDLETOWN – Professional Software Engineering Inc. (PROSOFT), a communications and information engineering company, was recently awarded a three-year, $1.08 million contract by Naval Health Care New England to provide information technology support services for the Naval Ambulatory Care Centers (NACC) in Newport and Groton, Conn.
Specifically, PROSOFT will install and test software; provide network, telecommunications and video-teleconferencing support; coordinate updates to Internet and Intranet sites; and provide help-desk support for NACC staff. PROSOFT currently provides network and telecommunications support for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport division.

WARWICK – ICOA Inc., a provider of public broadband Internet access, recently announced it installed wired and wireless broadband Internet services at Louisiana’s Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. The services provide high-speed Internet access in all public areas and the airport’s business and conference centers.
Under the terms of the five-year, renewable contract, ICOA owns and operates the Internet systems on a revenue-sharing basis with the airport. This Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) installation is a milestone for ICOA, as it marks the company’s emergence into the airport “Hot-Spot” market.
At many Hot Spots, ICOA will supplement Wi-Fi access with Internet terminals for users who do not carry laptop computers or PDAs. Business users now routinely seek out Wi-Fi Internet connectivity at public spots to access e-mail and Web sites on their laptop computers.
