GTECH and Czech Republic extend lottery contract

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. — Lottery system company GTECH said it has reached an agreement to extend its contract with SAZKA, an operator of lottery games in the Czech republic.

GTECH said it will continue to provide SAZKA with services such as the operation and maintenance of the online gaming system, the central computer system and online lottery terminals. In addition, GTECH said it will supply SAZKA with more terminals and introduce new products to the lottery. GTECH and SAZKA are also looking to process non-lottery transactions through SAZKA’s existing online lottery system, GTECH said.

GTECH has contracted with SAZKA since 1993. The new contract extends until December 31, 2005.
