NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — The Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation (SENESCO) said it has won a contract to build a 180-foot barge at Quonset Point, for John P. Picone, Inc., a general contractor from Lawrence, N.Y.
According to SENESCO, the Picone vessel will be used as a construction barge in the New York area.

This is the ninth barge order SENESCO has attained since it began operations in November of last year, it said. SENESCO currently employs 100 workers, it said.
