AAA: Gas prices down another 2 cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen by 2 cents per gallon for the second consecutive week, AAA Southern New England said on Monday.

AAA’s June 26 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve unleaded regular averaging $2.96 per gallon, two cents less than last week – and four cents less than two weeks ago. A year ago at this time, the average price was $2.25 cents per gallon, AAA said.

The auto club found prices ranging from a low of $2.90 to a high of $3.08 per gallon. Mid-grade unleaded gas averaged $3.09 cents per gallon, with a range of $3.02 to $3.21; premium averaged $3.19, with a range of $3.10 to $3.30, and diesel averaged $3.04, with a range of $2.93 to $3.12.
