Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen for the third consecutive week, and are at the lowest point locally since the early stages of the rapid increases of late spring, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s weekly survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.909 per gallon, two cents less than last week and five cents less than three weeks ago. Crude oil prices falling over the last few weeks as well as oil supply in excess of demand are cited by analysts as reasons for the lower prices.
