Governor Lincoln Almond has appointed Joseph M. Cianciolo to the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) Board of Directors. He replaces Bruce Holland, whose term has expired. Cianciolo’s term extends to Dec. 9, 2005.
“Joseph Cianciolo brings a wealth of experience to the board,” Almond said. “From his many years in management at a major Rhode Island accounting firms to his leadership roles with public service organizations, he has demonstrated considerable skills that make him a valuable asset to the Airport Corporation.”

Cianciolo began his career with the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. In 1961, he was admitted to the partnership in 1970 and served for nine years as managing partners of the Providence office before retiring in 1999.
Cianciolo serves on the Board Trustees of Providence College. He is also a trustee and treasurer of the Board of Trustees of Rhode Island Hospital and Area Chairman of the American Association of the Knights of Malta.
He had served for 11 years as treasurer and board member of the Rhode Island Economic Policy Council.
He is a graduate of Providence College and participated in the Advanced Graduate Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Cianciolo, 62, and his wife Judith reside in Providence and Narragansett. The couple has four grown children.
