WORCESTER, Mass. – Management and technology consulting firm Arthur D. Little (ADL) has announced that it has accepted offers for the sale of its seven lines of business to five buyers from around the world for a total of more than $96 million. The sale, which has been approved in federal bankruptcy court in Worcester, reflected the outcome of an auction conducted on April 3 and April 4 as part of the company’s sale under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
The buyers, which include Boston-based Charles River Associates and Virginia-based ICF Consulting, Inc., are expected to hire the majority of the full-time employees at the business. The management buyout of the management consulting operations, which was funded by Altran, included the purchase of the worldwide rights for the use of the Arthur D. Little name.

awarded contract by MOWAG
PROVIDENCE – Textron Systems has announced that its Marine & Land Systems Operations has been awarded a contract by MOWAG, Motorwagenfabrik AG. Of Kreuzlingen, Switzerland for 16 Cadillac Gage 40 millimeter/50 caliber turrets. This order is being manufactured and integrated into the Piranha III for a vehicle contract with the Spanish Ministry of Defense. The contract includes training, spares and logistics support.
MOWAG said it intends to integrate these systems into its Piranha III 8X8 amphibious vehicle, which is in use by various militaries and police agencies worldwide.

PROVIDENCE – Medical device and instrumentation firm Cell Based Delivery has announced the completion of a $9 million private financing round, led by TVM Techno Venture Management and including ABN AMRO and The Vertical Group. Cell Based Delivery is developing an implantable protein delivery system that provides long-term, therapeutic levels of proteins with a single administration. Also investing in CBD is the Slater Center for Biomedical Technology.
GTECH to offer
PIN numbers in Jamaica
WEST GREENWICH – GTECH and Supreme Ventures Limited have announced that both companies have signed a three-year agreement with Mossel Jamaica Limited (Digicel) to provide Digicel a non-exclusive distribution network for the electronic sale of personal identification numbers (PINs) for cellular phone usage in Jamaica. GTECH is the exclusive technology and service provider to Supreme Ventures, which holds a 10-year license to operate certain online lottery games in Jamaica. Digicel, an Irish-owned telecommunications company, is one of three cellular service providers in Jamaica.

Fans of the webslinger will be able to buy Sony Ericsson T60 series handsets and limited-edition Spider-Man faceplates. Cingular is also offering exclusive Spider-Man ringtones, alerts and trivia games to celebrate the comic book hero’s jump to the big screen.
