A.T. Cross to jointly develop digital pens

LINCOLN, R.I. — Ballpoint and fountain penmaker A.T. Cross Co., plans to jointly develop digital pens and services with Lund, Sweden-based C Technologies AB.

According to reports, Cross plans to complete the agreement within a year. The company has already begun to develop products with C Technologies AB unit Anoto.

Earlier this month, Cross announced it would provide digital pens for the new IBM ThinkPad TransNote portfolio notebook computer, a product that integrates paper and ink with a mobile computer. The computer’s touch screen and digital notepad can capture handwritten notes and transfer them to the computer, where they can be organized and searched.
