Auction set Dec. 9 on 33 Mount Hope Bay condos

TIVERTON – Starwood Tiverton LLC and Velocity Marketing have announced a one-day auction, Dec. 9 at The Westin Providence, of 33 luxury waterfront one- and two-bedroom midrise condominiums at The Villages On Mount Hope Bay.

Current asking prices range from $460,00 to $690,000, and a minimum selling price has been established for each of the 33 units, starting as low as $240,000.

“This event is limited to condominiums in the two midrise buildings, Greenwich House and Bristol House,” said Bob Cole, a managing partner at Velocity Marketing. “These are the only remaining residences of their type in the community, and we expect a flood of responses from bidders.”

This development in Tiverton – honored by the National Association of Home Builders with its 2005 Platinum Award for “Best Midrise Active Adult Community in the United States” – has already sold more than two thirds of its available town homes and condominiums, from phases one to three of five planned phases, the companies said.

“We are choosing to conduct an auction … as we continue to develop the next phase of this community,” Cole said. “We believe buyers who recognize the astonishing value of these homes and their spectacular location will set a fair market price in order to take advantage of this one-day opportunity.”

Starwood Tiverton has already embarked upon construction of the fourth of five phases, which will add 56 town homes and 76 residences in the community’s planned mansion style buildings. The permits and development rights for the rest of the waterfront area have already been secured, the companies said, and most of the infrastructure for the remainder of the development will be completed by the end of 2006.

The Bristol House and Greenwich House condominiums feature luxury kitchens with GE Profile appliances, granite countertops, hardwood cabinets and hardwood floors. They have marble bathrooms, laundry rooms with hook-ups and select residences have gas fireplaces. Each residence features unobstructed panoramic water views of Mount Hope Bay. The Villages on Mount Hope Bay also offers its residents amenities including a heated outdoor pool, a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse, a 3/4–mile waterfront walking trail, docks and moorings.

The Dec. 9 auction will be at The Westin Providence, at One Exchange Street. Bidder check-in is set for 10 a.m., and the auction for 11 o’clock sharp.

Registration is required to attend the auction and be eligible to bid. An auction registration form is available in the Auction Registration Center at The Villages on Mount Hope Bay, in Tiverton. The center, like the furnished model apartments, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
