Bank of America to host job fair for E. Prov. call center

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) will hold a job fair to staff a new call center, which will create 700 to 900 jobs in the state, according to a bank statement released Monday.

The job fair takes place Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Rhode Island Department of Labor’s netWORKri offices located at One Reservoir Avenue in Providence, the bank said.

The new call center in East Providence represents a $60 million investment into the local economy in the form of construction, equipment, and personnel costs, the bank said.

Under the current construction schedule, the center will open and begin handling live calls as early as October.

Job candidates attending the fair will receive information on how to apply and what qualifications are required to work at the call center. In addition, the bank associates will be on hand to answer any questions interested candidates may have. The bulk of the work that will be conducted at the call center will consist of problem resolution, inquiries and maintenance of consumer accounts, the bank said.
