Bay State jobless rate down

BOSTON — Growth in engineering, management and health services jobs has played
a key role in lowering unemployment this summer in Massachusetts, despite a sluggish
economy — according to the state’s Department of Employment and Training. Unemployment

A total of 3.2 million Bay State residents now hold jobs, compared to 3.196 million
in May.
