Many prominent members of the Providence business community will be “jailed” on Wednesday, April 12, at Ri-Ra Irish Pub and Restaurant and will raise “bail” to benefit the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
More than 60 local executives and civic leaders have already agreed to be arrested at their places of business and brought to “jail” to serve their voluntary one-hour sentence at the MDA Lock-Up.

Once the jailbirds arrive at Ri-Ra “central booking,” their “mug shots” will be taken and they will be escorted to their “cells” where they will call friends, family and co-workers to post their “bail.” The MDA “convicts” will be served jailhouse food donated by Ri-Ra.
MDA is a voluntary health agency working to fight neuromuscular diseases through research, comprehensive services and professional and public health education. In addition to funding research, MDA maintains 230 clinics nationwide, including one at Rhode Island Hospital, local support groups and a summer camp for kids with neuromuscular diseases.
