Leo J. DeLisi, Jr., was appointed to the faculty of the Academy of Business Appraisers by the Institute of Business Appraisers, Inc. DeLisi, a partner in the firm of Trugman Valuation Associates, Inc., will instruct courses in select locations along with sixteen other full-time, certified business appraisers. DeLisi has been a member of IBA since 1984 and serves on its Ethics and Discipline Committee.

AUTOMOTIVE
Sam Licavoli was announced as the chairman, president and CEO of Textron Automotive Company based in Troy, Michigan. He will report to Textron president and COO John A. Janitz. As head of Textron Automotive, Licavoli also becomes a member of Textron’s Executive Leadership Team. Licavoli joined Textron as president of its Trim division in 1996. Licavoli will continue to serve as president of the Trim division until a successor is named. Prior to joining Textron, Licavoli served as senior vice president and president of International A.O. Smith Corporation in Milwaukee, senior vice president of Tenneco Corporation’s Walker Manufacturing Division, and various management positions with International Harvester Company and Ford Motor Company. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Central Michigan University.
BANKING
Diane G. Mc-Gwin was recently promoted to vice president serving the communities of Greater Attleboro by BankBoston. She will take on the responsibility of developing new business, serving existing BankBoston customers and playing a leadership role in the banks’ community outreach initiatives. With a commercial banking career spanning ten years, McGwin previously served as BankBoston assistant vice president and was formerly with BayBank. She received a bachelor’s degree from URI and a master’s degree from Bryant College.
HEALTH CARE
Richard H. Kennedy, FACHE, vice president for operations at Women & Infants Hospital, has been elected to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Health-care Executives. Kennedy was elected at the Council of Regents meeting during the college’s 42nd Congress on Healthcare Management. As a regent, Kennedy will represent the college’s membership in Rhode Island.
MARKETING
Earl Cook has been named vice president of sales and marketing for Fielding Manufacturing, Inc. He joins Fielding after serving three years as a worldwide business unit director with Kiethly Instruments of Cleveland. Cook spent eleven years as application sales / marketing / communication for Digital Equipment Corporation in Marlboro, Mass. Prior to that he was director of engineering for Codex. He earned a master’s degree from Bryant College and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and mechanical engineering technology from Roger Williams University. Cook is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.
NON-PROFIT
Kenneth Andrew was recently named executive director of the Cornerstone School, a private school operated by Easter Seals RI/CranstonArc. Andrew, who is vice president for children’s services at Easter Seals RI, will be responsible for school programs and operations. He previously held positions as director of special education in Burrillville, Narragansett and New Shoreham and is the current president of the Board of Directors for South Shore Mental Health Services.
REAL ESTATE
Christopher Brady has joined Dimeo Properties as the commercial property manager. Brady brings seven years of commercial real estate experience to the position. He has worked with real estate service companies, including the John Buck Company in Chicago and Tammell Crow in Boston. He has experience with a diverse group of commercial properties including high-rise office, single story flex/tech and industrial properties.
SERVICES
Darlene Thornley has been promoted to customer service representative for Merry Maids, a residential cleaning service and a member of Service Master companies. She is responsible for client relations, quality assurance and a new employee mentoring program for a recent acquisition.
TELEVISION
Jim King was recently hired as the new anchor of 12News at 5pm for CBS affiliate WPRI-TV. King was most recently the weekend anchor for WCCO-TV, the CBS owned and operated affiliate in Minneapolis. He is a graduate of Colby College in Maine. Prior to his position at WCCO-TV, King was an investigative reporter at WHEC-TV in Rochester, NY.
VOLUNTEER
Richard God-frey, executive director of the RI Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation, was recently named treasurer of the National Council of State Housing Finance Agencies. He was elected to a two-year term as treasurer. He previously served as an at-large member and co-chaired the organization’s Rental Committee. Prior to joining RI Housing in 1993, Godfrey was deputy director of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and executive director of the New Jersey Department of Treasury. A graduate of Princeton University, Godfrey attended the Maxwell School of Public Affairs at Syracuse University and earned his law degree at Seton Hall University.
