David P. Dupere has been re-appointed as chairman of the Rhode Island Credit Union League (RICUL) and was also re-appointed to RICUL’s board of directors. He is the president and CEO of Warwick Municipal Credit Union, where he has been employed since 1994. Dupere is a graduate of Bryant College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, CUNA Management School, CUNA Regulatory Compliance School, CUNA Executive Development School and CUNA Financial Management School. He is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors Credit Union Council (NASCUS) and has recently been re-appointed director for the years 2001-2003. James C. Kelshaw
James C. Kelshaw has been named vice president, business lending at Bank Rhode Island. He will manage all assigned business loan accounts, credit extension, business development and loan workout. He joined Bank Rhode Island in 1999. Kelshaw previously was vice president, underwriting manager at Geneva Business Bank in Providence and commercial loan officer at Citizens Bank. He holds a Master of Science degree from Kings College in Pennsylvania. He is a resident of Coventry.
John Decker
John Decker has joined the First Federal Savings Bank of America (FIRSTFED) as vice president of business banking. He will be responsible for developing new business and serving customers in the greater Taunton and Attleboro areas. He was formerly employed at Shawmut Bank, Fleet Bank and most recently as business development executive at GE Capital. He received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and resides in Taunton with his wife.

John B. Fitzpatrick has joined the WLNE/ABC 6 sales team as account executive. He will be responsible for developing new business for the ABC television affiliate serving Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. He most recently served as co-owner and manager of Somebody’s Mom Café in Wareham, Massachusetts. Before that he was a human resources information specialist at Fleet Financial Group and as a member of the technical crew at Screen Gems in New York City, where he worked on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. He is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s in economics and history. He resides in South Dartmouth, Mass. with his wife and three daughters.

Glen Markey
Glen Markey of design engineering firm Novare Engineers, Inc. has attained his Professional Engineering (PE) license. As a registered PE, he will have the authority to sign and seal, or approve, construction documents. He had been as department manager at Novare since 1997 and will continue in this capacity. Markey is responsible for the supervision of the planning, design and coordination of all phases of the firm’s plumbing and fire protection division. He will also review and approve of final mechanical construction documents. He is director of the Rhode Island Society of Professional Engineers (RISPE) and associate with the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE). He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s of business administration at the University of Massachusetts. He resides in Rockland, Mass. with his wife Kimberly and their daughter Lauren.

Frederick J. Turk
Frederick J. Turk, CPA has been appointed to the board of advisors of Tuition Management Systems, Inc. of Newport. He is former president, campus services division at Aramark Corporation and previously was the partner in charge of higher education, research and other not-for-profit lines of business at KPMG LLP. Turk is on the faculty of the College Business Management Institute at the University of Kentucky. He is a frequent speaker on topics pertaining to the business of higher education and has written numerous articles on management subjects with regard to colleges and universities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. John’s University in 1964 and a master’s in business administration from New York University in 1968.

She will be responsible for marketing the restaurant as a facility to hold special functions and small meetings. Nuttall graduated from Johnson & Wales University and is a resident of Warwick.

Dan Quarella has joined USI New England’s Rhode Island insurance and financial services operation (formerly Shippee-Warburton). He will direct the firm’s newly created construction services group, specializing in bonds and insurance for contractors. Previously he was executive vice president at the Carlin Insurance Agency of Natick, Mass. and a bond manager at Safeco Insurance Company and Amwest Surety Insurance Company. Quarella holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant College and the AFSB designation from the Insurance Institute of America. He resides in North Kingstown.

Matthew F. Medeiros
Matthew F. Medeiros has been named a partner at the law firm of Little, Bulman, Medeiros & Whitney, P.C. He devotes his active litigation practice to a broad range of business-related cases across the United States including antitrust, securities, RICO, product liability, employment discrimination and termination, partnership disputes and corporate valuation. Medeiros co-founded the Providence law firm of Flanders & Medeiros and was formerly a partner at Edwards & Angell. He began his career as a law clerk to former Chief Judge Raymond J. Pettine of the U.S. District Court before joining Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of Brown University and New York University School of Law. He is an inductee of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations.

Cindy M. Jones has been awarded the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, a not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS. Realtors who receive the CRS designation have completed advanced courses and have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of residential real estate. Jones is a sales associate with the DeWolfe Companies in Avondale. She is a member of the Kent/Washington County Board of Realtors.
