Karen Brelsford has joined RDW Group as a senior account executive. She is specializing in strategic planning and implementation of direct marketing programs for several RDW accounts. Prior to joining the Providence-based advertising and public relations group, Brelsford worked as a consultant in New York City in the publishing, health care and financial services industries for such companies as Chemical Bank, Oxford Health Plans, NatWest Bank, Grey Direct and European American Bank. A Warren resident, Brelsford earned a bachelor’s degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music.

Christopher M. Ladd
Christopher M. Ladd, AIA, of The Robinson Green Beretta Corporation, has successfully passed all nine sections of the Architectural Registration Examination. With RGB since 1999, he is now licensed to practice architecture in Rhode Island. Ladd will be responsible for architectural design as well as project coordination. He holds an associate’s degree in architectural engineering and a bachelor of architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass.

Peter J. Oldrid has been appointed assistant vice president and investment advisor of Fall River Five Cents Savings Bank. With over ten years of investment sales experience, Oldrid represents Infinex Financial Group, which is located at the Bank. He is a graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University.

Wes Cotter
Wes Cotter has been named corporate director of communication for Gilbane Building Company. Cotter will oversee all internal and external corporate communications. He comes to Gilbane from the Pittsburgh-based Michael Baker Corporation, where he served as manager of corporate communications. Prior to that Cotter was a reporter at the Pittsburgh Business Times, covering the manufacturing sector. A North Kingstown resident, he has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Pittsburgh.

John E. Barrett
John E. Barrett has been appointed senior director at the Providence office of GPC/O’Neill & Associates. In his new position he will develop communications strategies for new and existing clients. Formerly vice president of South County Newspapers, Barrett is a member of Leadership Rhode Island’s Alpha Class. He has been the director of marketing and public relations at NYNEX. Barrett is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and completed a year-long congressional fellowship program of the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C.

Dayle Joseph
Dayle Joseph has been named resident dean of the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing. Previously the interim dean, Joseph joined URI as a part-time instructor in 1973. She earned her registered nurse diploma from Rhode Island Hospital, a bachelor’s degree in school-nurse teacher education from Rhode Island College and two master’s degrees; one in counseling from RIC, and the other in nursing from URI. Joseph earned her doctorate in humanistic education from Boston University. She is a resident of East Greenwich.

Marcy Fortune
Marcy Fortune of Barrington has been named clinical assessment coordinator for the geropsychiatric partial hospital program of Saint Anne’s Hospital’s Center for Behavioral Medicine. As such she is responsible for the clinical assessment of elder persons who may need partial hospitalization for such problems as depression or anxiety. In addition she serves as the program’s community liaison and outreach coordinator. A graduate of the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, Fortune has provided clinical social work services for more than fifteen years throughout New England.
Jeffrey Hunt, MD.
Jeffrey Hunt, MD has been named the new chief of adolescent services for Bradley Hospital. Formerly chair of Landmark Medical Center’s psychiatry department, Dr. Hunt is board certified in general psychiatry and in child and adolescent psychiatry. He is a clinical assistant professor at the Brown University School of Medicine and maintains a private practice in Lincoln. Dr. Hunt received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his training in child psychiatry at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. In addition he is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Medical Association.

Michael D. Lynch, Esq., joined the staff of The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company as vice president of legal services. He will establish a staff counsel office to manage the legal services provided to Beacon and its policyholders. Lynch has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Providence College, and a juris doctorate degree from Gonzaga University in Washington. He is a member of the Associate Member Advisory Council of the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions, the American and Rhode Island Bar Associations, the Bench/Bar Committee of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.

Heather E. Cady of East Providence, has recently joined GT Funding Corporation as office manager. He responsibilities include processing retail loans, the coordination of loan closings with attorneys and clients and various administrative duties. She has been in the mortgage industry since 1996.

Robert G. Hoffman
Robert G. Hoffman of North Kingstown has been named chief executive officer and president of the Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation at Quonset Point. He is the former senior vice president and general manager at Crowley Maritime Corporation. He earned a bachelor of science degree and a third mate’s license at the U.S. Merchant Maritime Academy in New York. He also holds a certificate from the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University.
