Cheryl R. Ruggeiro has joined the Pawtucket Credit Union board of directors. She is director of tax services with the accounting firm of Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co., Ltd. Evelyn Moore
Evelyn Moore has joined Fleming & Roskelly, Inc. as office manager. She is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations including personnel and production functions. Prior to joining Fleming, she was employed as office manager of Holmes Construction, Inc. She has held positions with the Preservation Society of Newport County; Early, Cloud & Company/IBM Corporation; and Growing Children of Rhode Island. A resident of Newport, she is a graduate of the Sawyer School and a volunteer with Literacy Volunteers of America.

Jeffrey F. Fountain has been nominated to win the James Beard Award for “Best National Cooking Show”. He was nominated for “Cooking Live,” 60-minute interactive program hosted by Sara Moulton, that he directed throughout the network’s 1999 season. A winner of three national Emmy Awards, Fountain began his directing career at WPRI-TV in East Providence in 1984. The James Beard Awards are presented each May by the James Beard Foundation, a not-for-profit culinary organization dedicated to furthering the practice and appreciation of the culinary arts.

Geri L. Manning
Geri L. Manning has been appointed director of annual giving and constituent relations of Roger Williams University. She previously served as constituent relations manager at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. Manning also served as executive director of the Pasadena Bar Association, and was campaign associate for the Mt. Baldy United Way in California. She earned an associate’s degree in business administration from Community College of Rhode Island, a certificate in non-profit management from the University of California, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Azusa Pacific University.

John D. Beauregard
John D. Beauregard of Cumberland, has been appointed assistant vice president of GT Funding Corp. His specialties include the financing of multi-unit and mixed-use properties, as well as various types of commercial and residential lending. His bilingual fluency accommodates the Spanish-speaking communities that the Lincoln-based company serves.
Guy C. Rizzo
Guy C. Rizzo has been promoted to first vice president of investments at Salomon Smith Barney. With the company since 1994, he has offices in both Narragansett and Newport. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island, and was awarded an academic scholarship to Northeastern University, where he completed the requirements for a master’s degree. Rizzo holds a law degree from the New England School of Law, and is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association. He continued his education at Boston University School of Law’s graduate program on taxation, which included courses in estate planning.

Kenneth W. Washburn
Kenneth W. Washburn, chairman and president of Union Wadding Company in Pawtucket, has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of Southeastern Health-care Systems, Inc., the parent company of Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. A Providence resident, Washburn is director of the Providence Energy Corporation/Providence Gas Company as well as the Pawtucket Mutual Insurance Company and Wardell Braiding Company. He has been on the board of trustees of Memorial since 1968, and on the board of Bradley Hospital since 1971. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, and his master’s from Harvard Business School.

Claude A. Cote
Claude A. Cote has joined the environmental law group in the firm of Tillinghast Licht Perkins Smith & Cohen, LLP. With more than 17 years of experience in environmental law, Cote served as legal counsel and deputy chief of legal services for the Department of Environmental Management. Cote represented the DEM in protracted public hearings involving such matters as Quonset Point Resource Recovery facility, Central Landfill, Birchwood Realty, Ocean State Power and the Manchester Street Station. He is a graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center and McGill University. He lives in Lincoln.

John J. Politis
John J. Politis has been named business director of Uniprene for the Plastics Group of Teknor Apex Company. Until recently he was market development specialist in the Plastics Group. He will coordinate the joint venture of Teknor Apex with Uniroyal Chemical Subsidiary of C.K. Witco to bring the Uniprene thermoplastic vulcanizate compounds to market. Politis has been with Teknor Apex since 1998. He was previously employed as a market management and market development manager for Elf Atochem of North America in Pennsylvania. He is a North Kingstown resident.

Les Goldstein has been named president and chief operating officer for InterPay, Inc., a payroll company designed for small business owners, located in Mansfield, Mass. Formerly the executive vice president in the Fleet Technology Solutions Group, he will be responsible for all operations and technology and the coordination of those activities with sales and marketing.

Eileen Schanck has been promoted to senior human resources consultant for Careers Unlimited, Inc., of War-wick. She will be responsible for providing human resource consulting and employee placement services to insurance agency clients throughout New England. She has been with the company since 1995 as a human resource consultant. Careers Unlimited specializes in insurance and computer information systems placement.
