Fred Bristol
Fred Bristol has been appointed New England vice president at Cox Communications in Cranston. His responsibilities include sales, support, service delivery, service assurance and overall customer satisfaction for Cox Business Services in New England as well as marketing campaigns and initiatives for business customers. Bristol previously served as vice president of marketing for Cox Communications’ New England operations. He is a graduate of Amherst College in Amherst, Mass. and earned a master’s of business administration from the State University of New York, Buffalo. He serves on the board of directors of the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing, New England Chapter and is a resident of East Greenwich.

Laura Nein
Laura Nein has been promoted to senior event manager at the Rhode Island Convention Center. She will be responsible for coordinating client relations and she will also oversee event and decorating services. She was formerly member services coordinator for the National Association of College Broadcasters and as program director, assistant promotions director and disc jockey for WGRE in Greencastle, Indiana. Nein received her bachelor’s in English literature from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. She also attended Aberdeen University in Scotland.

 

 

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Bruce A. DiPietro
Bruce A. DiPietro, CFA has joined the Providence Group Investment Advisory Company as managing director. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Case Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in management from the Weatherhead /School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. DiPietro is a chartered financial analyst and most recently served as regional investment manager for Fleet Investment Advisors in Florida. He resides in Barrington.

 

 

 

HEALTH CARE

Angela Downing Munro
Angela Downing Munro has been appointed development director at Phoenix House of New England in Providence. She will lead new initiatives to finance substance abuse treatment, education and prevention programs in four New England states. Munro has previously served as a consultant for Travelers Aid Society of Rhode Island and for the American Red Cross, as well as director of advancement for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Rhode Island. She was the chair of the board of the United Way of Southeastern New England and was on the United Way of America’s Planned Giving Council. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and a resident of Providence.

 

 

INSURANCE

Cheryl Watkins-Snead
Cheryl Watkins-Snead has been elected to the board of directors at Amica Mutual Insurance Company. She received her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and her master’s in business administration from Purdue University in Indiana. Watkins-Snead managed machined shop operations for Peerless Precision in Lincoln, and is now sole owner, president and CEO of Banneker Industries, a supply chain management company. She resides in North Providence.

Jennifer A. Payne
Jennifer A. Payne has been appointed promotion specialist at The Providence Journal Company. She previously served as a temporary assistant within the newspaper’s promotion department. Payne will retain her responsibilities with promotional projects and tactics supporting the newspaper’s advertising and circulation sales strategies along with fulfilling her new position. She was formerly employed at the Boston College of Communication as recruiter/graduate assistant for the journalism department. She holds a master of science degree from Boston College of Communication as well as a bachelor of arts from Rhode Island College. She is the editor of the Actor’s Collaborative Newsletter and co-chair of the Actor’s Special Events board, and resides in Wrentham, Mass.

Susan Robinson
Susan Robinson has been promoted to associate creative director at Ross-Simons in Cranston. She will further develop the brand and launch new campaign strategies. She has previously served as copy director at Ross-Simons, a copywriter for the Victoria’s Secret catalogue, and copy director at Woodward & Lothrop, a Washington, D.C. area department store. Robinson received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. She resides in Newport.

 

 

NON-PROFIT

Kevin E. McCay
Kevin E. McKay has been named executive director of Tockwotton Home of Providence. He will be responsible for managing the operation of both Tockwotton’s Assisted Living Center and Nursing Home. McKay was formerly employed as director of human relations and support services for the Diocesan Health Facilities in Fall River, Mass. He received his master’s in health care from Salve Regina University and is a licensed nursing home administrator, a member of the American Society of Hospital Engineering and the Greater Fall River Human Resources Council.

 

RETAIL

Steven R. Hostetter
Steven R. Hostetter has joined DB Companies, Inc. of Providence as senior vice president of operations. His responsibilities include store operations at all 184 corporate and franchise-operated DB Mart locations. Hostetter was formerly employed at Sheetz, where he served as district manager, director of merchandising, and regional operations director, at Circle K, where he spent seven years, eventually becoming division president, and as chief operating officer at Kangaroo, Inc. in Gainesville, Ga.

 

 

 

TRANSPORTATION

Dennis Lyons
Dennis Lyons has joined Dattco, Inc. as director of operations, motorcoach division. He was formerly employed as transportation installation specialist for Versyss Systems of Needham, Mass., operations manager of the Boston-based firm, A Yankee Line, and general manager of the American Eagle Motorcoach of Fair Haven, Mass. He is a travel management graduate of Johnson & Wales University.
