U.S. Sen. Lincoln Chaffee announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce has notified him that the state Department of Administration will receive $125,000 to continue the state’s economic development planning program.
The program has three goals, including: the continued support of agencies responsible for economic development; ensuring that state and local economies are able to attain sustainable jobs and protect them from the impact of potential future economic disasters; and ensure that Rhode Island offers a reliable, low-cost and environmentally responsible supply of energy to support economic growth and safeguard consumers.
