CODAC Inc. receives $100,000 grant

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded CODAC, Inc., a $99,200 grant to support the nonprofit behavioral health organization’s Parent Empowerment Program.

The program is a community-oriented approach to identify and address specific risk factors that adversely effect adolescents and their families in Rhode Island, U.S. Sen. Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., said in a release. The program provides continuing support and education for parents and communities to help them work toward the prevention of adolescent drug abuse and violence.

“CODAC’s years of great work in treating and preventing substance abuse will be an invaluable asset to the success of its Parent Empowerment Program,” Chafee said.

CODAC Behavioral Healthcare, originally known as “Community Organization for Drug Abuse Counseling,” provides outpatient counseling in a number of areas.
