U.S. East natural gas slipped Wednesday with
forecasters calling for an end to a two-day cold snap in the
Northeast and a return to normal temperatures.
New York City will bottom out at 32 Fahrenheit
today, 1 degree higher than normal, the National Weather Service reports. The
overnight low in Providence rose to 30 Wednesday night
degrees from 16 degrees.

New York City gas fell from a 10-month high at Transco Zone
6, dropping $1.16, or 13 percent, to $8.07 on the
Intercontinental Exchange, an electronic energy market run from
Atlanta, Bloomberg News reports.
At the Algonquin delivery area serving New England, prices
dropped 93 cents to $7.80.
Wholesale prices at the benchmark Henry Hub fell 6 cents to
$7.04 per million British thermal units.
Prices at ANR Southeast, where gas enters the pipeline
system, declined 9 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $6.98 per million
Btu on the exchange, Bloomberg reports.
