The Judicial Nominating Commission announced plans to narrow the search list for candidates for chief justice of the state Supreme Court after a public hearing held Wednesday, November 29.
According to the Associated Press, the panel, which has already received more than 300 endorsements for the six candidates, will hear from the public, then decide their selection in a closed session before passing the names of three to five finalists to Gov. Lincoln Almond, though no date has officially been set. Almond will then have 21 days to choose one candidate who then must be approved by the General Assembly.
