Cox Cable adding NESN to standard lineup

CRANSTON — With the opening of the baseball season imminent, Cox Communications
announced hat it would add the New England Sports Network (NESN) to its standard
programming lineup as of March 28 on Cox channel 56. Previously, NESN was only
available in Rhode Island through Cox cable on its premium channel for a special
monthly fee, most recently $10.95. NESN will cover a total of 86 regular season
Red Sox games, including 40 games from Fenway Park. Cox 3 will cover Red Sox games
not shown on NESN. In addition to the Red Sox, NESN, which is owned by the Boston
Red Sox and Boston Bruins also covers both the Boston and Providence Bruins and
the Pawtucket Red Sox.
