MIDDLETOWN — The acquisition of an electronic college applications company by Cytation.com will add 30 jobs to the Middletown based company, nearly doubling the size of the workforce, a spokesperson said. And in time, the company, which currently employs 35, could increase employment to 100, the spokesperson said.
The employment projections were the result of Cytation.com’s acquisition of ECI, Inc., described as an innovator of electronic college applications and a leading supplier of products and services to college-bound students and the academic institutions they attend.

Cytation.com, which trades over the counter under the symbol CYTA, provides Internet based training management services. Its principal service is RollCall, a proprietary online browser-based-enterprise-wide training management operation system.

PROVIDENCE – Nestor Traffic Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Nestor, Inc. (OCT:NEST), announced that the town of Vienna, Virginia has begun issuing red light running citations using the company’s CrossingGuard video-based automated enforcement system.
CrossingGuard is the first automated red light enforcement system using video to monitor and detect violations, to record violation images, to transmit digital images electronically in real-time, and to issue citations. The program is able to detect and track vehicles as they approach an intersection, and if a violation is predicted (based on speed and distance from the stop line), Crossing Guard records and saves the images of each vehicle just before and during the violation.
Vienna Police Chief Dan Boring said the system has permitted the community to issue a much higher percentage of violations than other red light systems, and in a more timely fashion.
”Coupled with the opportunity for the officer, the violator, and ultimately, the court to view the entire video of the event, CrossingGuard goes a long way to ensuring fairness and equitable treatment,” Boring said.
Nestor officials quote the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as identifying the problem of red light running as a leading cause of urban crashes, resulting in more than 4,200 deaths from 1992 to 1996.
