FleetBoston Financial declares preferred stock dividend

The Board of Directors of FleetBoston Financial today declared a regular quarterly dividend of $.843750 per depositary share on the corporation’s Series VI 6.75 % Perpetual Preferred Stock (FBF pfG). The dividend is payable on January 15, 2002 to shareholders of record on December 31, 2001.
