Greenwood pledges $45k to Trudeau program

Representatives of Greenwood Credit Union and the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center recently gathered to a presentation ceremony to commemorate the credit union’s five-year, $45,000 pledge to the nonprofit Trudeau Center. The funds will support the Trudeau Center’s Pathways Strategic Teaching Center, which will celebrate the grand opening of its new location May 17.
The Pathways Strategic Teaching Center is a private, state-approved special education day school that offers education and treatment programs for children with autism and related disorders. It was founded in 1998 by the Trudeau Center and local parents. Last year, the Trudeau Center purchased and moved its Pathways Center into a new space at the Centre of New England after reaching capacity in its previous space. Pathways Center currently serves students in 21 Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts school districts.
James M. Irving, president and CEO of Greenwood Credit Union, said, “We are proud to be associated with the Trudeau Center and by providing a leadership grant to Pathways, support all the ways in which they have made a difference to the developmentally disabled, their families and the entire community.”
