GTECH Corp. announced Friday that it has been awarded a two-year contract extension by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) to continue to provide products and services for Idaho’s Fish and Game Licensing System through 2006.
The contract is expected to generate $4 million, GTECH said in a news release.

“This extension clearly demonstrates that other agencies, in addition to state lotteries, are embracing GTECH’s Enterprise Series solution,” said GTECH President and CEO W. Bruce Turner. He said GTECH will deliver the Enterprise platfrom and Web-enabled terminals that will result in a more reliable communications system, which should improve operating costs.
Idaho’s licensing system enforces regulations for 640 different license types at the point-of-sale and processes more than 1.2 million fish and game licenses, tags, and permits annually, GTECH said. The IDFG licensing database holds records for 1.5 million sportsmen and sportswomen, spanning a seven-year period.
